Warm Places 2023

On Sunday afternoons in January, Shavington-cum-Gresty Village Hall turned the heating on and invited all community members as Shavington-cum-Gresty Parish Council support the Cheshire East Warm PlaCEs initiative.

The three session ran with different themes each week to provide residents with somewhere warm to spend their Sunday afternoons.

Bingo was a very popular opening event with the invention of a chocolate number causing much excitement.

The second week saw a craft session, led by local volunteers Lou and Angela this was led alongside table games for people to enjoy

The final session, a beetle drive was again a very popular afternoon.

It was great to see community members of all ages enjoying these activities together.

We were grateful for the support of Woodnoth-cum-Shavington WI who served refreshments at each of these events, Cheshire East who provided Warm Packs of hats, socks, and gloves for the community and also to Motherwell Charity who brought preloved school uniforms and warm coats for Shavington Primary and Shavington Academy for people to take.
