Neighbourhood Plan

A Neighbourhood Plan will give Shavington-cum-Gresty the power to shape the growth and development of its area.

Ours has been prepared by the Parish Council, in consultation with you, and will be used when Cheshire East Planning decides the suitability of any planning applications submitted for Shavington-cum-Gresty.

What is the Referendum for?

The Referendum is a legal requirement to confirm that the residents agree with the Plan and to (if approved) turn the plan into law.
A majority vote in favour will determine whether Cheshire East Council should take note of the Neighbourhood Plan when determining planning applications.

When will the Referendum be held?

Covid-permitting, the Referendum date is Thursday 6th May 2021 – the same date as the 2021 Police and Crime Commissioner Elections for Cheshire East.

Who can Vote?

All persons on the Shavington-cum-Gresty electoral roll will be eligible to vote. Details will be sent out before the Referendum takes place.

A call to the Elections Department at Cheshire East Council on 0300 123 5016 will confirm eligibility to vote.
