Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee

Shavington-cum-Gresty celebrated the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee in 2022 with a series of events led by Shavington Village Festival Committee.

Programme of Events

Thursday 2 June Lighting a Beacon 9.45pm

 This was held on Shavington Primary School Field. A guard of honour was formed by members of the Local Scout Group

Refreshments were available in the Shavington-cum-Gresty Village Hall from 8.30pm

Friday 3 June

 Concert commemorating the seven decades of the Queen’s reign.

 Performers included local choirs and individuals

 This was held in a marquee on the Shavington-cum-Gresty Village Hall carpark.

 Refreshments were available in the Shavington-cum-Gresty Village Hall.

Saturday 4 June

Annual Village Festival was held on the area around Shavington-cum-Gresty Village Hall.

Entertainment included Fun Fayre, Miniature Train, Dog Show, Face Painting

 Sunday 5 June  

Joint Outdoor service in the marquee (due to wet weather) at 11am

Refreshments were held in the St Marks Church Hall.
